Jost Chemical Co.

Like most start-up companies, Jost Chemical Co. underwent difficult times during the first few years. The company's ability to overcome initial obstacles and to achieve its current success can be attributed, in part, to Jerry's early decision to employ retired chemical industry experts. Their experience and knowledge have been and continue to be invaluable to the growth of the company. Also, Jerry never wavered from his commitment to excellence and to producing the highest purity products that meet customer requirements.

In the fall of 1985, production began at the company's first manufacturing plant located on "The Hill" area of St. Louis. The company began producing high purity, high value, fine chemicals for the bulk reagent market. These efforts rapidly expanded into production of fine chemicals for the nutritional and pharmaceutical markets. The company also produced many special custom manufactured chemicals.

By 1994, Jost Chemical outgrew the original facility and built a new 40,000 square foot plant in St. Louis County near Lambert International Airport. In 1997, the new plant was expanded by an additional 50,000 sq. ft. And in 2004, a new 100,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant was completed on the adjoining five acres. To support the continued sales growth in Europe,
Jost Chemical established in 2001, a Sales and Marketing office in Belgium. Today, Jost Chemical has over 190,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space and warehousing space in Belgium, California and New Jersey.

The company has grown to over 100 employees. Today, Jost Chemical manufacturers and ships over 150 distinct, high purity, specialty bulk chemical products all over the world. One thing hasn't changed. The same commitment to producing high purity products that meet customer requirements is in the forefront of everything that Jost Chemical does.
