Marketing Sales Manager
Background
- Works under general direction of the Sales and Marketing
Director.
- Requires a highly motivated, creative self-starter
to develop differentiated, specialty chemical products with
a focus on contributing to consistent growth of revenues and
profitability.
Tasks
- Lead activities that drive new product development from concept
to creation, such as initiate and develop communications with
existing and potential customers to identify new product opportunities,
and investigate problems and areas of desirable product development
- Identify opportunities from various sources that relate to
specialty chemical trends consistent with organizational markets;
develop business cases for entering into new product categories;
research trends, competition and other resources; establish
appropriate partnerships to create new products focused on maximum
profitability, exposure, and overall benefits to organization
- Develop and implement effective and measurable integrated
marketing and promotional strategies for new and existing products
- Liaison of customer needs with production engineers; participate
in departmental operations planning, development and implementation
of plans for technological solutions aimed to gain efficiencies
in processes; orient communications at a management level, blending
technical and non-technical perspectives while identifying business
impacts of outlined issues
- Keep current with best practice in marketing, science and
manufacturing
Specifications
- BS in Chemistry
- Three (3) or more years direct marketing experience
- Knowledge of:
- Chemistry (Advanced level)
- Sales marketing practices (Advanced level)
- MS Office computer package (Advanced level)
- Skill in:
- Oral and written communications
- Maximizing revenue and gross margins
- Solving problems with confidence and demonstrating detail-orientation
and strong organizational skills
- Ability to:
- Develop plans, capture and analyze data, summarize findings
and implement initiatives
- Demonstrate a dedicated sense of ownership, urgency and
follow through with a focus on customer-driven results
- Work independently with limited supervision
- Present analyses to various audiences (detailed and executive
summaries)
- Read, analyze and interpret statistical and scientific data
- Work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment,
multi-task and participate in team-based planning process
- Adopt to rapidly changing priorities based on business needs
