Electrical Engineer
Background
- Works under general direction of the Engineering Director in a c-GMP regulated manufacturing environment operating under Q7A standards.
- Limited responsibility to provide team with expertise in the design and layout of electrical systems using developed subsystems, industry standard components and, when required, some elements of original design.
Tasks
- Work closely with engineers, electricians, operators and others during all phases of engineering projects from conception through commissioning
- Design, implement, maintain and improve electrical equipment, instruments, facilities, components, and systems for chemical manufacturing plant
- Operate computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
- Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes and customer requirements
- Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards
- Prepare specifications and purchase materials and equipment
- Investigate and test vendor products
- Oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget
- Prepare and study technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems to ensure installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
- Investigate complaints, determine nature and extent of problem and recommend remedial measures
- Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs; develop budgets, estimate labor/material/construction costs
- Compile data and write reports regarding existing and potential engineering projects
- Keep abreast of new methods and developments for the purpose of recommending changes in emphasis in programs, or new programs, or new programs warranted by such developments
Specifications

B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
- Three (3) years experience
- Knowledge of:
- Theories, principles, methods and procedures of electrical engineering (Basic level)
- Mathematics and statistics (Broad level)
- AutoCAD Inventor preferred
- MS Office software package
- Skill in:
- Working effectively and efficiently on multiple projects
- Effective, disciplined and demonstrated documentation
- Working effectively in a team environment, including collaboration between development and process divisions
- Responding to rapidly changing demands
- Ability to:
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Develop creative solutions to problems
- Meet deadlines

- Perform field investigation and provide services within a chemical manufacturing plant
