IT Systems Manager
Background
- Works under administrative direction in a c-GMP regulated manufacturing environment operating under Q7A standards.
- Employees are subject matter experts who analyze and identify projects and technologies that will produce significant operational results and add value to the organization. They are responsible for determining methods of use of computers and related auxiliary equipment. Work typically involves design, development and implementation of broad applications.
Tasks
- Perform comprehensive studies and analyses of information processing functions, methods and procedures; make recommendations concerning feasibility of revising existing operations or adapting new applications for information processing solutions; advise management of any issues that may cause delays
- Implement and support ERP Process Manufacturing Systems; analyze and develop connectors between various database systems and ERP systems
- Application and reporting support of MAS90 accounting system using database tools and Crystal Reports
- Analyze and develop complex applications using PHP/MYSQL, Ruby and HTML, LIMS (Laboratory Information System) database systems, C++, MS Access and other established language(s); resolve complex applications or design issues; demonstrate broad exposure to all aspects of applications programming (such as file design, update, storage and retrieval)
- Maintain availability of systems, operational efficiency and stability, and support of moderately complex system; provide back-up network operations support as necessary
- Consult with and advise users concerning specific information processing procedures available and feasibility of using systems to solve business problems; provide development and support for application requirements; resolve design and development issues
- Estimate task scope and target dates for each assignment; responsible for timely task completion
- Modify associated specification documentation for changed applications in accordance with approved standards
- Analyze, modify and revise established procedures to incorporate changes in user needs and to maintain efficiency in information processing procedures
- Develop and apply cross-checks and audit procedures to assure accuracy and reliable practices in information technology systems operations
- Provide problem definitions and assignments; coordinate activities of staff engaged in the design, preparation and revision of computer programs and information processing operations
- Develop prototypes for applications
- Assist in instruction, training and advising of personnel in computer usage techniques, machine operations and related information processing applications
- Adhere to all safety and quality requirements; enhance site safety
- Maintain currency with the relevant applications literature
Specifications
- B.S. degree. Credit for a major in a program that included (or was supplemented by) at least 18 semester hours in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field.
- Seven (7) years of progressively more responsible work experience that provided knowledge of generally accepted principles, theories and practices used in IT Applications in a process manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of:
- Database management and/or current applications programs including C++, PHP/MYSQL Ruby and HTML, LIMS (Laboratory Information System) database systems, and integration with MS Office applications (Extensive level)
- Accounting application programming, MAS-90 and Crystal Reports preferred.
- Validation and c-GMP requirements (preferred)
- Implementation of ERP systems for process manufacturing operations (preferred)
- Office methods and procedures
- Familiarity in process control programming (PLC or similar) a plus.
